UAE has further strengthened its position as a global leader in energy innovation through advancements in artificial intelligence, sustainable technologies, and over USD 130 billion in clean energy investments, according to George Bou Mitri, President of Honeywell for the Middle East, Turkiye and Central Asia.

Speaking to local media during ADIPEC 2025, Bou Mitri praised the UAE’s collaborative model between the public and private sectors, saying it has fostered transformative solutions with far-reaching global impact. He highlighted that projects launched in the UAE, such as Honeywell’s partnership with ADNOC on the Ruwais LNG project, which will produce 9.6 million tonnes annually, are pivotal in driving the worldwide transition toward cleaner, more efficient energy systems.

Bou Mitri emphasised that global energy demand is projected to grow by 32 percent by 2050, with electricity demand rising over 75 percent, underscoring the urgent need for efficient, low-emission technologies. The UAE, he said, exemplifies this approach by integrating LNG, hydrogen, solar, and sustainable fuels into its energy mix.

Highlighting Honeywell’s technological advancements, he revealed the development of the region’s first fully autonomous control room powered by AI in partnership with Borouge, marking a milestone for the petrochemical industry.

Bou Mitri concluded that regional energy investments are gaining strong momentum, expected to exceed USD130 billion this year, driven by major initiatives in hydrogen, LNG, and carbon capture, reinforcing the Middle East’s pivotal role in the global energy transition.
