This groundbreaking project is the first of its kind and combines innovative features such as a portable EV charger, foldable solar panels, smart energy storage, and microgrid control. This unique combination of cutting-edge technologies is set to revolutionize the deployment of EV charger solutions.
This project addresses prominent market issues such as standard transportation tendencies, complex deployment processes, high overall costs, the increasing demand for EV charging solutions, and high loads on the existing power grid.
The product is well-suited to non-urban environments, enabling EV charging capability without the need for permanent infrastructure.
This mobile battery energy storage system can deploy power to various locations while maintaining self-sustainability without a connection to the power grid. This cutting-edge design incorporates a 533kWh TROES Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), a 50kw solar array, two level 2 EV chargers, and one fast DC 100kW charger.
The entire system is mounted on a 53ft flatbed truck; once it reaches its destination, mechanical controls deploy the solar array and activate the system.
"TROES' unique expertise in BESS hardware + software design and manufacturing, as well as our ability to offer adaptable turn-key solutions, were key factors in obtaining this funding," said Vienna Zhou, Founder and CEO of TROES Corp. "We are excited to contribute to this innovative energy storage project, which is expected to create hundreds of new jobs in Ontario, helping to further promote the adoption of electric vehicles in the province."
"We are excited to partner with TROES Corp on this ground-breaking project," said Bob Eaton, Managing Member of Day & Night Solar. "This collaboration brings together our expertise in solar project development with TROES Corp's cutting-edge battery energy storage technology, resulting in a truly innovative solution for EV charging.” DNS is excited to be bringing advanced technology to our Canadian NECA Members, tapping into their skilled labor.
“OCI funding for this unique project will offset the cost to build the portable EV charging station and meet demands for the insufficiency of public EV direct current fast charger infrastructure (DCFC),” said Claudia Krywiak, President and CEO of the Ontario Centre of Innovation.
