Trina Storage, a firm specialising in energy storage solutions and part of Trina Solar, has unveiled its next-generation 6.25 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), Elementa 3, at Solar and Storage Live KSA.
The platform features higher energy density, improved safety measures, and cost-efficient design aimed at supporting Saudi Arabia’s clean-energy ambitions under Vision 2030, which targets 50 percent of power generation from renewable sources by 2030.
Elementa 3 increases single-cabinet capacity to 6.25 MWh, improves module energy density by 12.3 percent, and boosts site-level energy density by 24.7 percent, significantly reducing the levelised cost of storage. Advanced chip-level balancing technology extends battery lifecycle, while optimized cell materials, liquid cooling, and reinforced cabinet structure provide two-hour fire resistance.
The system has been adapted for harsh Middle Eastern conditions, with IP67-rated modules, C5-coated cabinets to resist coastal salt spray and sand abrasion, and reliable operation in temperatures up to 55 °C using a bionic cooling system.
Trina Storage has shipped a cumulative 12 GWh globally by mid-2025 and has delivered regional projects quickly, including a 300 MWh BESS in Egypt connected to the grid in just 60 days, highlighting its operational efficiency in the Middle East.
