Torrent Power Receives LoA for 1,600 MW Thermal Power Project in Madhya Pradesh
The project will deploy Ultra Supercritical technology, and the power generated from the plant will be supplied to MP Power Management Company Ltd.(MPPMCL).

Torrent Power has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from MP Power Management Company Ltd. (MPPMCL) for the development of a 1,600 MW coal-based power plant in Madhya Pradesh.
The project will deploy Ultra Supercritical technology, and the power generated from the plant will be supplied to MPPMCL.
The project, to be executed under a 25-year contract, involves an estimated investment of around INR 22,000 crore and is expected to generate annual revenues of approximately INR 6,500 crore.
The requisite coal for the plant will be arranged by MPPMCL under the Government of India’s SHAKTI policy.
Torrent Power is among the country’s best-run power utilities with highly efficient generation assets. It has a portfolio of coal-based, gas-based, and renewable power plants with an aggregate generation capacity of 4328 MW.
The company distributes power to over 4.13 million customers annually in its distribution areas of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, and Dahej SEZ and Dholera SIR (Gujarat); Bhiwandi, Shil, Mumbra and Kalwa (Maharashtra); Agra (Uttar Pradesh), and the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman, and Diu.
