UJALA energy efficient appliances – 9W LED bulbs, 20W LED tubelights & 5-star ceiling fans available at prominent Ganesh Mandals

: As the biggest festival in Maharashtra-- the Ganeshotsav starts tomorrow, Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), a Government of India enterprise is gearing up to spread the message of energy conservation through an exciting scheme amongst the millions of devotees expected to visit the thousands of Mandals during the 12-days of fiesta spread out in the state.
Apart from utilising this unique platform of the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandals across Maharashtra to spread the word of energy efficiency amongst the visitors and maximise the impact of the government’s Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for all (UJALA) scheme, these carnival hot-spots will also be distributing energy efficient equipment such as LED Bulbs, LED Tubelights and BEE 5-star rated Fans at affordable rates through stalls in their Mandals.
“Ganeshotsav is an ideal platform to spread the message of energy conservation. We appeal to all consumers to visit these Sarvajanik Mandals and purchase energy efficient appliances at less than the market price,” said Mr. Dipak Kokate, Regional Manager, EESL, Maharashtra.
Sarvajanik Mandals across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Solapur, Kolhapur, Nasik, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Bhandara, Vasai-Virar, Kalyan-Dombivali and Ahmadnagar will distribute energy efficient appliances under the UJALA Scheme.

The UJALA scheme in Maharashtra has been very successful as EESL has distributed over 2.13 crore LED bulbs, over 40,000 tubelights and 11 lakh 5-star rated ceiling fans. The UJALA programme is spread across close to 40 districts in the state helping the state save crores in consumer bills and avoiding over 550 MW of peak demand.
