The Chilean Minister of Energy, Juan Carlos Jobet, has inaugurated Solarpack's Granja Solar plant. Located in Pozo Almonte, in the Tarapacá Region, in the middle of the Atacama Desert, this plant is the largest in the region with an installed capacity of 123 MW.

During the event, Juan Carlos Jobet was accompanied by Miguel Ángel Quezada, head of the Tarapacá Region, by Ximena Cancino, Ministerial Secretary of Energy for the Tarapacá Region, Felipe Novoa and Jaime Solaun, as officers of Solarpack Chile, and other employees of the company.

Juan Carlos Jobet highlighted that “Granja Solar photovoltaic plant has 332,000 modules to produce electricity that contribute to the decarbonization of Chile. We are very happy with the progress the country has made on the path towards a 100% renewable Chile with a much faster growth than expected thanks to projects like this one.”

Granja Solar sells its energy to Chilean power distributors through long-term sales contracts (PPAs), signed after being awarded in the 2015/01 electricity supply tender held in the country. At that time, it had the most competitive price offered by a solar photovoltaic project until the date, contributing to the reduction of the energy supply price of Chilean households.

Solarpack already has a total power operating in Chile of 211 MW.
