Telangana to host National Power Summit on February 9 2018

The Department of Energy, Government of Telangana and its Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd (TSREDCO), in association with Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd, is organising National Power Summit, here, on February 9, 2018.

The primary objective of the Summit is to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration platform between the private and public sectors; and academia and research & development domains.

G Jagadish Reddy, Minister for Energy, Government of Telangana, will be the chief guest at the Summit while the guests of honour and keynote speaker include: Anand Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India. Ajay Mishra, Special Chief Secretary, Department of Energy, Government of Telangana is the programme host while A Sudhakar Rao, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, TSRESDCO, will be the programme chair. International partners, British High Commission and Embassy of Sweden, are participating in the Summit.

Telangana is on the threshold of emerging as a power surplus state in next few years. The State Government, in line with the emphasis laid nationally and globally on the use of renewable energy, has been taking many initiatives to be at the forefront of renewable power generation and conservation.

The One-Day National Power Summit will witness participation of eminent speakers from both private and public sectors. Some of esteemed speakers include PV Ramesh, CMD, Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd; Ajay Jain, Principal Secretary, Department of Energy, Government of Telangana; Rajaram Mane, Director-General, Maharashtra Energy Development Agency; Vishal Kumar Dev, CMD, Odisha Hydro Power Corporation;

The Summit will witness panel discussions and presentations focused on Policy Frameworks, Industry Overview and Vision for Future, Renewable Energy/Green Energy, Technologies in Power Sector, Energy Infrastructure - Smart Grids, etc.
