In last week's vote to find their best suppliers, ZF Friedrichshafen AG awarded teamtechnik the ZF Energy Efficiency Award 2013. The specialist for highly-flexible assembly and test lines received the award for a flagship electromobility project in which it set up the first standalone photovoltaic system with storage battery in Baden-Württemberg at its headquarters in Freiberg. teamtechnik supplies current generated from the sun to charging stations for electric vehicles on the factory site and also uses it to provide some of the energy required for production.
"teamtechnik wanted to make a positive statement about the feasibility of electromobility," explained Stefan Rosskopf, CEO of the teamtechnik group, as he received the award at the Materials Management Symposium organized by ZF. "The development of electromobility in Germany is proceeding astonishingly slowly." teamtechnik has a high level of technical expertise at its disposal. The solar modules used in the project were also produced on teamtechnik machine assemblies. The teamtechnik group is engaged in the solar technology and automotive sectors and a member of the Electromobility South-West cluster of excellence in Baden-Württemberg.
