Tata Power's consumer base climbs up to 5 lakh consumers in Mumbai
Steady network expansion within the city with a focus on 11 clusters

Tata Power increased its consumer base to 5 Lakh consumers in April 2014. The Company is fast growing power utility in the city of Mumbai and has empowered Mumbaikars the ‘Right to choose’ their preferred power supplier.
Tata Power grew at a rapid pace with the significant addition of 5 lakh consumers in just 4 years. The highlight of this milestone was the last leg addition of 2 lakh consumers, consuming electricity below 300 units. Tata Power’s consumers below 300 units account for almost 65 per cent of its total consumers in the city. These consumers below 300 units category also enjoy lowest tariff in the city.

Tata Power is undertaking steady network expansion within the city with a focus on 11 clusters post receiving directions from MERC on August 22, 2012. The Company has faced various challenges in laying its network and has been successful in adding 695 Kms of cable network till March 2014. In addition to this, the Company has added 7 additional Distribution Sub Stations (DSS) and 118 Consumer Sub Stations (CSS), totaling the DSS to 24 DSS and 637 CSS.
