Tata Power-DDL Hosts Samavesh 2026 to Promote Women-Led Solar Adoption in Delhi

Tata Power Delhi Distribution has organised “Samavesh: Carnival of Women Solar Customers 2026” at MR Global School, Delhi, recognising the contribution of women in promoting rooftop solar adoption under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL) recently organised “Samavesh: Carnival of Women Solar Customers 2026” at MR Global School, Bawana, Outer Delhi. The event recognised and celebrated the inspiring contribution of women in promoting rooftop solar adoption under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

The solar awareness programme witnessed participation from more than 350 women representing over 30 villages across Tata Power-DDL’s rural network, highlighting growing grassroots engagement in renewable energy adoption.

The event was chaired by Rahul Kumar, General Manager, Tata Power-DDL, and attended by several dignitaries, including Anju Aman Dabas, Councillor of Pooth Khurd village, Ravinder Inderaj Singh’s daughter, Fiza, Rekha Sinha, former Councillor of Jharoda Burari, Ruchika Rana, Principal of MR Global School, Chandrika, Head of Brahma Kumaris North-West Delhi, Jyoti Kaur, and Deepaka Kataria, along with other community leaders and officials.

Tata Power-DDL honoured over 125 women solar customers and achievers across various fields for their contributions to advancing sustainable energy. Apart from these, over 250 women took an oath to further strengthen awareness and outreach for solar initiatives in their respective villages.

Additionally, 70 girls and women achievers at state and national levels were felicitated for their outstanding contributions across diverse domains such as sports, education, health, yoga, social welfare, and energy conservation, highlighting the broader impact of women-led progress.

The event also featured engaging solar awareness sessions and interactive competitions, including drawing, races, and cultural performances focused on women empowerment and clean energy awareness. Around 150 additional participants actively engaged in these activities, further strengthening community involvement.
