Tata Power has successfully commissioned the 400/220 kV Metro Depot Substation along with associated transmission lines, significantly enhancing electricity infrastructure in and around Greater Noida and the National Capital Region (NCR). The critical linear infrastructure project has added 1,000 MVA of transformation capacity to meet the region’s rapidly growing power demand.
In addition to supporting local load requirements, surplus power from the newly commissioned system will be fed into the Northern Grid, helping strengthen power availability across other northern states.
The intra-state transmission system has been developed under TP Jalpura Khurja Transmission (TPJKPTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power. The commissioning marks the first major milestone under the Jalpura–Khurja Tariff-Based Competitive BJidding (TBCB) transmission project.
With this addition, Tata Power’s transmission portfolio now comprises 7,047 circuit kilometres of transmission lines that are operational or under execution across India, further cementing its position as a key player in the country’s power transmission sector.
