Tata Motors, India’s electric four-wheeler manufacturer, has announced the introductory pricing of its flagship electric SUV, the Harrier.ev.
As per the company’s statement, the Harrier.ev aims to combine luxury, performance, and advanced technology in a single package, seeking to push the boundaries of what electric vehicles can offer in the Indian market.
Bookings for the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variants will open on July 2, while the prices for the Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) dual-motor versions are scheduled to be announced on June 27. The RWD models have been priced at INR 21.49 lakh for the Adventure 65, INR 21.99 lakh for the Adventure S 65, INR 23.99 lakh for the Fearless+ 65, INR 24.99 lakh for the Fearless+ 75, and INR 27.49 lakh for the Empowered 75, all ex-showroom, pan-India. The prices do not include the cost of the AC fast charger or its installation, which is available as an optional extra.
According to Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., the Harrier.ev is intended to offer a combination of performance and capability traditionally associated with ICE vehicles, while introducing electric-specific advantages such as lower running costs and enhanced technology. He stated that the vehicle is positioned to challenge the conventional idea of what defines an SUV, highlighting its quick acceleration, off-road readiness, and connected features.
The Harrier.ev is equipped with a dual-motor configuration delivering 504 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, which the company claims is a segment-best figure. The QWD system is supported by six terrain modes and includes a 540-degree surround view system designed to enhance visibility, including under-vehicle perspectives.
Inside the vehicle, the infotainment system features a 14.53-inch Harman display powered by Samsung’s Neo QLED technology, a first in the automotive sector. The system is paired with a JBL Black 10-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos, aimed at delivering an immersive in-cabin experience. Additional features include e-Valet Auto Park Assist, a digital key system called Digi Access, and the DrivePay digital payment interface.
The Harrier.ev comes with a 75kWh battery pack that offers an ARAI-certified range of 627 km. Real-world estimates suggest a range between 480 and 505 km. The vehicle supports fast charging, with the ability to add up to 250 km of range in just 15 minutes. Tata Motors is also offering a lifetime warranty on the battery pack for the first private owner, which the company says is a step toward improving consumer confidence in EV ownership.
The company has demonstrated the Harrier.ev’s off-road and performance credentials through test challenges such as the 'Elephant Rock Challenge.' With this launch, Tata Motors is expanding its EV portfolio while targeting customers seeking an alternative to traditional ICE-powered SUVs.
