Tamilnadu Petroproducts has announced that the company will procure 13.2 MW of captive solar power from Navia Three Power, a SPV of Zelestra India.
The company will pick up a 26 percent stake in the SPV, to comply with the requirement of Captive power generation under the Electricity Act, 2003, with an investment of about INR 7.33 crore in multiple tranches.
“The company had entered into an arrangement with Navia Three Power to procure solar power of approximately 19.8 MWp (DC)/13.2 MW (AC). Pursuant to this, the company agreed to invest in the equity of NTPPL up to a sum of INR 7.326 crore in tranches,” the company said in a regulatory filing.
The SPV was formed with the objective of developing a wind-solar power generation facility in the state of Tamil Nadu, mentioned the filing.
The acquisition is expected to be completed by September 2026.
In its Annual Report 2024–25, the Tamilnadu Petroproducts reported that about 81 percent of its total power consumption in FY25 was sourced from renewables, with nearly 105 million units generated from wind and solar energy. The company also plans to commission 230 kW and 442 kW solar systems at its heavy chemicals and linear alkyl benzene plants, respectively, in FY26.
