Tamil Nadu’s Renewable Energy Future in Spotlight at REconnect Coimbatore

Under the theme of ‘Powering Tomorrow: Solar and Wind Synergies for a Resilient Tamil Nadu’, REconnect Summit Coimbatore will bring together leading voices in the renewable energy sector – including IPPs, EPCs, manufacturers, policymakers, Discoms and energy storage solutions providers, showcasing the state’s progress toward a sustainable energy future.

The Coimbatore Edition of REconnect Summit is scheduled to be held on December 4, 2025, at the Merlis Hotel. Under the theme of ‘Powering Tomorrow: Solar and Wind Synergies for a Resilient Tamil Nadu’, the REconnect Summit Coimbatore will place the state’s clean energy momentum squarely in the spotlight, bringing together a powerful mix of stakeholders from renewable energy EPCs (C&I and residential), solar and wind component manufacturers, and the energy storage ecosystem to collectively shape the next phase of Tamil Nadu’s green growth story.

Designed as a full-day forum that convenes influential leaders, experts, and innovators to discuss pathways for Tamil Nadu’s renewable energy transition strategy as it works toward its target of adding 12 GW of RE capacity by 2030, taking the state’s total closer to 40 GW.

Dr. K. Balaraman, Former Director General, NIWE, MNRE and Chairman, ETD 46, BIS, Er. C. Sathish Kumar, Superintending Engineer, Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. and R.K. Vinothan, Former Director (Technical), Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Ltd., will be the Guests of Honour. They will be emphasising the importance of advancing wind and solar energy, along with BESS adoption for a resilient energy grid via their keynote addresses.

The summit has garnered support from prominent industry players, including Icon Solar, Adani Solar, Luminous Power Technologies, Navitas Solar, ECE India Energies, Deye Interverter Technologies, Anand E-Beam Cables, Future Solar, Solax, Gautam Solar, Aatmanirbhar Solar, POM Power, Skkytop, Cosmic PV Power, SolarYaan, Gronsol, ASOT Solar and NOVA Space Solar. Chinnavedampatti Industrial Association (CIA), Pan India Solar Sector Association (PISSA), and Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) are the industry association partners for the event.

The summit agenda is anchored by high-impact panel discussions, expert sessions, and networking interactions that address pivotal themes such as solar PV manufacturing growth, evolving regulatory frameworks, utility-scale solar and wind energy expansion, scaling C&I and residential rooftop adoption, open access and captive procurement models, BESS co-location, the state’s energy storage landscape, and the fast-maturing EV ecosystem.

The discussions during the event will revolve around:

Scaling C&I and Residential Solar Adoption in Tamil Nadu: A deep dive into strategies to boost uptake in both commercial and industrial (C&I) and residential segments.
Building Tamil Nadu’s Solar Future – Manufacturing and Innovation: A look at the state’s emergence as a solar manufacturing hub and its role in advancing national sustainability goals.
Tamil Nadu’s Solar Storage and EV Scenario: Insights into grid stabilisation via storage, BESS co-location opportunities, the interplay between EV and solar charging infrastructure, and policy support for clean mobility.
Winds of Change – Reinventing Wind Energy in Tamil Nadu: A look at the state’s potential in wind energy, utility-scale wind projects deployment, challenges and regulatory bottlenecks, hybrid, FDRE and RTC projects involving wind energy and harnessing offshore wind energy
