Suzlon Group has appointed wind industry veteran Paulo Fernando Soares as President – Europe to strengthen its leadership team and drive international expansion under its Suzlon 2.0 strategy.

Suzlon Group has appointed Paulo Fernando Soares as President – Europe, strengthening the global leadership team as the company advances the next phase of its international expansion under the Suzlon 2.0 strategy. The move underscores Suzlon’s focus on accelerating growth in key global markets, particularly Europe, one of the world’s largest wind energy regions.
In his new role, Soares will lead Suzlon’s European operations with a mandate to build regional capabilities, establish strategic partnerships, enhance customer engagement and expand market access across the continent. He will also be responsible for developing a strong organisational framework to support Suzlon’s long-term presence and growth in European markets. The company currently operates in 17 countries worldwide.
Commenting on the appointment, Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, said, “Europe represents a significant strategic opportunity for the company’s global growth ambitions. Soares’ deep understanding of wind technology, customer dynamics and international markets will be instrumental in strengthening our global growth strategy.”
Paulo Fernando Soares said he is pleased to rejoin Suzlon and work closely with its global and Indian leadership teams. He also highlighted Suzlon’s role as a pioneer in the wind energy industry and its contribution to advancing wind power in the global energy transition.
Soares brings nearly four decades of experience in the global wind energy sector, having built and scaled businesses across major markets including Germany, Brazil, China and Spain. He has held senior leadership roles spanning business development, sales and operations with leading Western and Asian wind turbine OEMs. Notably, he previously spent five years at Suzlon, where he played a key role in establishing the company’s Asian operations.
