Suzlon Group has announced that it has achieved a significant milestone of installing its 10,000th WTG (wind turbine generator) during the first half of 2015. Suzlon has come a long way since its maiden turbine installation in the state of Gujarat, India in 1995.
With over two decades of operating history, Suzlon Group has cumulative installations of over 14 GW of wind energy capacity with operations across over 17 countries and customer base of more than 1700.
Mr. Tulsi Tanti, Chairman, Suzlon Group said , ”Suzlon’s operations commenced in 1995 with just a handful of people and along the way built a team that made it possible to achieve the installation of this commendable feat. This milestone reinforces the confidence our customers have on Suzlon and also on its products and project execution capabilities. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their continuous belief on us and our employees for their relentless support.
We will continuously work at reducing the cost of energy by about 15 per cent by 2020 and heavily invest in R&D and innovation. I am confident that wind energy will play a pivotal role in changing the global energy landscape and Suzlon is best positioned to tap this growing opportunity for a greener tomorrow.”
Suzlon continues to leverage its technological edge to introduce path breaking products aimed at higher yields and ensuring higher ROI to customers. The products like S97-120m hub height hybrid tower and the soon to be launched S111-2.1MW Turbine, the largest rotor diameter WTG are industry game changers, engineered for low wind sites.
