Sunsure Begins Solar Power Supply to APL and Apollo Metalex in UP

Sunsure will be supplying 10.5 million units of renewable energy annually to both the companies from Sunsure’s plant in Mahoba, U.P., helping them to collectively offset 7,500 metric tonnes of CO2e emissions annually, augmenting their sustainability efforts.

Sunsure Energy announces the commencement of solar power supply to Apollo Pipes Limited and Apollo Metalex Pvt. Ltd., part of the APL Apollo Group. Sunsure will be supplying 10.5 million units of renewable energy annually to both the companies from Sunsure’s plant in Mahoba, U.P., helping them to collectively offset 7,500 metric tonnes of CO2e emissions annually, augmenting their sustainability efforts.

This will also enable the two companies to meet over 50 percent of their power requirement with clean, renewable energy, significantly advancing their environmental sustainability initiatives.
 
With a capacity to produce 3.6 million tonnes per annum, APL Apollo Tubes Limited is the largest producer of Structural Steel Tubes and Pipes in India. APL Apollo has prioritized the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework by setting ambitious targets, with the vision of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. They have also signed with Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) with an aim to reduce 25 percent of scope 1 & 2 emissions per metric ton on steel produced by 2030 and to make renewable energy available to all of their manufacturing plants by 2025.
