Sunora Solar has announced plans to expand its battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity to 6 GWh and showcased its energy storage solutions at the Renewable Energy (REI) Expo 2026 in Greater Noida.

Under the theme (SESS) “SUNORA: ENERGY STORAGE, SOLUTION,” the company showcased its commitment to innovation in clean energy and advanced energy storage technologies at the REI Expo.

Sunora Solar has established a BESS manufacturing facility in Kosamba, Surat district, Gujarat, to cater to residential, commercial, industrial and utility-scale applications. Its energy storage solutions are designed to store surplus electricity generated by solar panels for use during night-time, peak demand periods or grid interruptions, depending on system capacity and configuration.

The company further elaborated that a BESS comprises a battery bank, power conversion system (PCS), battery management system (BMS) and energy management system (EMS), which manage energy storage, power conversion, battery monitoring and energy utilisation.

The proposed expansion to 6 GWh is aimed at addressing India's growing demand for energy storage and strengthening the company's presence in the sector. As another key initiative, the company also showcased a new product at REI Expo 2026.

“These initiatives by Sunora Solar represent an important step towards integrating energy storage solutions with solar power and addressing the electricity requirements of various sectors. Through advanced technologies and energy management solutions, the company aims to contribute to India's clean and sustainable energy future,” the company stated.
