Sunkind Energy has entered into a technical partnership with JA Solar to support its upcoming 2.4 GW solar PV cell and 4 GW solar module manufacturing facilities in India.
As part of the MoU, Sunkind will leverage JA Solar’s advanced technical expertise and raw‑material supply chain to enhance its solar cell and solar module manufacturing capabilities and integrate global best practices and upcoming high‑efficiency technologies.
Commenting on the partnership, Hanish Gupta, Founder and Managing Director of Sunkind Energy, said, “As India accelerates its transition towards renewable energy, the demand for high-performance solar solutions is at an all‑time high. This growing need calls for innovative technologies, reliable manufacturing, and sustainable deployment strategies to ensure energy security and meet ambitious climate goals. Through this collaboration, we aim to deliver world‑class solar cells and modules that support India’s vision for self‑reliant, future‑ready industrial growth.”
Virpal Yadav, Director and COO of Sunkind Energy, added, “At Sunkind Energy, we are committed to delivering precision‑led products that meet global performance benchmarks. This partnership enables us to adopt cutting‑edge technologies and process standards that will translate into superior efficiency, reliability, and long‑term value for our clients and partners.”
Aiqing Yang, Executive President of JA Solar, said, “India is one of the most dynamic solar markets in the world, and we are delighted to join hands with Sunkind Energy in advancing high‑efficiency solar cell and module manufacturing in the region. Through this strategic collaboration, we aim to share our technical expertise with Sunkind, enabling the development of a robust, quality‑led manufacturing ecosystem aligned with global standards.”
The announcement comes at a time when India’s solar industry is undergoing rapid expansion. In 2024 alone, the country added 30.7 GW of new solar capacity — a 145 percent increase over the previous year — making India the third‑largest solar market globally.
JA Solar’s expertise in advanced cell technologies such as TOPCon, paired with its proven production methodologies, will strengthen Sunkind’s operational capabilities as it enters the solar manufacturing domain. The partnership is expected to enhance both output and quality while aligning with international benchmarks.
