Sterling Gtake Partners with Landworld to Manufacture EV Chargers and DC/DC Converters in India
Sterling Tools, through its EV arm Sterling Gtake E-Mobility, has partnered with China’s Landworld to locally manufacture on-board chargers, DC/DC converters, and multifunction units for electric vehicles in India.

The company has signed Technology License and Supply agreements with Landworld Technology Co. Ltd., China to locally manufacture on-board chargers, DC/DC convertors and multi-function units (incorporating on-board chargers, DC/DC converters as well as power distribution units (PDUs)). These products are crucial for the electrification of passenger and commercial vehicles, the company said in a statement.
The company will manufacture these units at its EV campus in Faridabad. The partnership is expected to generate around INR 450 crore in business by FY'30 in a market segment that is projected to reach INR 3,000 crore.
By producing these components domestically, Sterling Gtake aims to drive import substitution, aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and supporting the Make in India initiative. The development will empower Indian companies and other suppliers to access advanced technology locally, building a self-reliant ecosystem for the auto industry in India.
Commenting on the partnership, Anil Aggarwal, Chairman, Sterling Tools Ltd., said, “This partnership creates greater depth in the EV ecosystem in India. We are expanding beyond our initial Motor Control Unit and Power Train platforms to meet our customer's growing demand for advanced technology in the EV sector. EV sub-systems are being increasingly consolidated into multifunction units and Sterling hopes to offer our customers greater choices for stand-alone and multifunction units to cover multiple (vehicle) functions. The Sterling Group will continue to extend excellent technical and application support to its customers to help drive greater adoption of EVs in India.”
EV On-board chargers allow vehicles to connect directly to an AC power source and control the voltage and current which is required to charge the battery pack. DC/DC converters step down the battery pack voltage to a voltage, usable by the vehicle's auxiliary systems. The diversification into these products is in line with Sterling's ambition to develop EV power electronics competence and expertise as well as a comprehensive portfolio to serve the Indian auto industry.
