Sterling and Wilson Pvt. Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Korea-based Shinsung E&G to jointly pursue cleanroom and dryroom HVAC projects for semiconductor, battery and display fabrication facilities.

Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on bidding for, acquiring and executing projects involving specialised HVAC systems required for fabrication units. The partnership combines Sterling and Wilson’s engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and MEP capabilities with Shinsung E&G’s expertise in HVAC solutions for advanced manufacturing facilities.

Sterling and Wilson CEO Manoj Nair said that the collaboration would help address the growing demand for high-specification fabrication units. He noted that the partnership brings together Sterling and Wilson’s experience in executing MEP projects and Shinsung E&G’s specialised HVAC technology.

Shinsung E&G CEO Jiseon Lee said that India and the Middle East are important markets for the company, where demand is rising for MEP works in semiconductor fabrication plants, outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facilities, battery manufacturing units and display fabrication plants. She added that the partnership would enable both companies to combine their strengths and explore opportunities across multiple geographies.

The announcement comes as India seeks to strengthen its position in the global semiconductor supply chain. Industry reports indicate that government incentives and policy support are helping expand the country's semiconductor ecosystem, with the aim of attracting manufacturing investments and developing domestic supply chain capabilities.
