Sterling and Wilson has announced that it has recently commissioned SunEdison’s 30 MW Solar PV Power Plant in Sitamau town, Mandsaur district, Madhya Pradesh. This is part of the 50 MW Solar PV Power Plant inaugurated by SunEdison on 30th June, 2015 . The Solar PV plant set up by Sterling and Wilson also boast of Asia’s largest tracker system technology that has been installed for SunEdison. This project was awarded to SunEdison under the Phase 2 Batch 1of Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) Category.

For the SunEdison solar power plant project, Sterling and Wilson’s scope of work included design, engineering, supply, fabrication, construction, inspection, installation, testing and commissioning of the complete power plant.

Speaking on the commissioning of SunEdison’s 30 MW power plant Mr. Bikesh Ogra, President, Sterling and Wilson, Electrical & Solar Business said, “We are extremely happy with the Solar PV power plant that we have set up for SunEdison. We have not only completed this project efficiently but have also created value for our esteemed client by installing the tracker system technology on highly uneven surface, and in doing so have managed to be the first in setting up Asia’s largest tracker system for SunEdison.”

The 30 MW Solar PV power plant set up by Sterling and Wilson is technologically robust and an engineering marvel in its own right due to the use of the single axis tracker system that has been mounted on highly uneven surface. Sterling and Wilson carried out extensive leveling of the land based on the contour thereby increasing its suitability for tracker technology. Their extensive experience in solar installations and technical know-how proved to be a privilege factor in meeting the vagaries of project execution. Premium quality modules and inverters were used to ensure optimum plant performance. The entire 30 MW Solar PV Power Plant was completed within three months from signing of the appointment contract reaffirming Sterling and Wilson’s strength in personnel resource and engineering knowledge to complete a given project within the most stringent time schedules.
