Pune-based renewable energy EPC company Sorigin RE Services has announced that the company has secured its first standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Rajasthan, with a total capacity of 250 MW/500 MWh.

The project has been awarded by a leading independent power producer and comprises two installations of 125 MW/250 MWh each at Giral and Suratgarh, the company stated, further adding that the development is aimed at enhancing grid stability, enabling peak demand management, and supporting the integration of renewable energy into the power system.

“Through end-to-end EPC solutions for BESS, we are enabling reliable, resilient, and flexible power systems that support India’s target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and its Net Zero 2070 vision,” stated the company.

Sorigin RE Services is a renewable energy EPC and power infrastructure developer with experience in executing around 6,000 MW of solar and wind projects across 10 states in India, offering end-to-end services from feasibility studies and engineering to installation, commissioning, and operations and maintenance, the company stated.
