Sonnedix, a renewable energy producer boasting over 3 GW of operating capacity, has embarked on a collaboration by signing its inaugural Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) Framework Agreement with Eiffage Energia Sistemas, a subsidiary of Eiffage, one of Europe's premier construction and concession firms based in Spain.

The agreement sets a precedent in the industry, establishing standardized general terms and conditions for construction activities across Sonnedix's project pipeline in Spain, Italy, and Portugal. Currently, Sonnedix has 858 MW of renewable energy projects under construction in these markets, with an additional development pipeline totaling 1.72 GW.

By streamlining legal, technical, and commercial terms, the Framework Agreement empowers Sonnedix to enhance operational agility and efficiency. It enables the company to expedite project construction by eliminating the need for individual EPC agreements, which typically require two to three months to finalize.

Jorge Amiano, Sonnedix's Global Head of Engineering and Construction, emphasized the agreement's significance in accelerating project execution stating, "This first-of-its-kind agreement will significantly reduce our negotiation efforts, enabling Sonnedix to fast track the construction of our pipeline of projects in southern Europe."

Sonnedix's CEO, Axel Thiemann, lauded the partnership with Eiffage, highlighting the company's reputable track record in key markets and said, "Eiffage has a strong track record in our key markets of Spain, Italy, and Portugal, and is exactly the type of company we look to build long-term partnerships with."

Jose Manuel Martinez, CEO of Eiffage Energia Sistemas, expressed pride in the collaboration, emphasizing Eiffage's stature as a leading EPC contractor globally and in the Spanish renewables sector.

Daniel Garrido, Director of Eiffage Energia Sistemas' International and Renewable Department, highlighted the companies' shared commitment to the energy transition, citing their successful collaboration on a 300 MW portfolio in Spain as a testament to their capabilities.
