Spanish solar tracker specialist Soltec has been supplying its single-axis SFOne trackers, capable of generating 83 MW, for a new solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in the Minas Gerais region in Brazil.
The Mercury Renew, Solatio and Sunrise-owned solar plant would be equipped with more than 154,000 modules and 1,366 1-In-Portrait (1P) array SFOne trackers.
Post this project, the company will be having an aggregate capacity of over 4 GW in Brazil, where it is a leading solar plant supplier with an office and factory in the country since 2015, with years of operation.
Commenting on winning the project, Raúl Morales, CEO of Soltec, said that “this project further consolidates our leading position in the Brazilian market, where Soltec has been operating for many years. We are convinced that Brazil remains as a key market for energy transition and we want to continue being here as the main supplier for new projects in this country. We are honored by the alliance between Mercury Renew, Solatio and Sunrise for this project, as it encourages us to further strengthen our position in the industry.”
Further, the new solar project, having a surface area of around 150 hectares, is expected to cut 156,206 metric tons of CO2 emissions from the atmosphere, and will generate enough electricity to power more than 40,000 households.
Meanwhile, the company specializes in vertically integrated solutions for the PV solar energy industry. It currently operates in 16 countries, with a solid presence in Spain, North America and Latin America. It’s activity is structured around two main business areas i.e. Powertis, PV project development division and Soltec, industrial division and third manufacturer of solar trackers worldwide, providing clients with additional construction services to ensure a comprehensive and integrated value proposal.
