Punjab-based solar power developer and EPC company Solidus Techno Power has announced the commissioning of a 40 MW (60 MWp) captive open access solar project in Punjab, marking one of the largest installations under the state’s Green Energy Open Access Policy.
It has been developed for Aarti Steels and Aarti International, supporting their transition towards cleaner energy and industrial decarbonisation, the company stated, further adding that the project is expected to generate approximately 85 million units of clean energy annually, while reducing around 80,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
With the completion of this project, Solidus Techno Power has achieved a cumulative milestone of 200 MW of commissioned solar capacity across North India. The company stated that the project reflects its continued focus on delivering scalable renewable energy solutions for the industrial sector. The company is targeting a total portfolio of over 1,000 MW by the end of 2026, it said.
