Solex Energy Explores Bilateral Investment Opportunities in Indonesia

India’s one of the oldest photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturers Solex Energy has been exploring bilateral investment opportunities in Indonesia.

In line with this, Chetan Shah, CMD of Solex Energy had a meeting with Agus Saptono, the Consul General of Indonesia during his visit to Surat, and discussed the possibilities of mutual business opportunities between the NSE-listed Solex and the Indonesian companies.

As Solex is in the advanced stage of completion of its 1.2 GW PV module production facility in Surat, the Consul General expressed his willingness to do business with the company.

Gujarat-based PV module maker said that “the meeting turned out to be very fruitful, and ample opportunities exist in the areas of manufacturing of wafers, cells & modules.”

“The Consul General of Indonesia has promised to organise meetings with industry leaders from Indonesia to explore bilateral investment opportunities, the company further said.

The company, which is already having its manufacturing plant in Anand, Gujarat since 2007, had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China’s Jinchen Machinery for 1.2 GW of fully automated module production line in June, this year.

Besides, it is also planning for backward integration by putting up a 1 GW of solar cell manufacturing line in coming years.
