Solex Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ISC Konstanz, Germany, for advanced R&D and technological collaboration in solar cell manufacturing.

Through this partnership, ISC Konstanz will extend comprehensive technological support to Solex for upgrading its upcomingft./TOPCon cell line and adopting next-generation Rear Contact and c-Si tandem/perovskite solar technologies. The collaboration will also enable the establishment of Solex's dedicated in-house R&D line, backed by ISC Konstanz's patent portfolio, driving continuous innovation and high-efficiency solar manufacturing within India.

Speaking at the event, Dr Chetan Shah, Chairman and Managing Director, Solex Energy, said, "This partnership marks a defining chapter in Solex's journey toward technological excellence and global leadership. Under our Vision 2030, we are committed to transforming India into a hub of solar innovation with a targeted valuation of 1 lakh crore, a USD 1.5 Billion investment, and 25,000 skilled team members driving that vision forward.

“Last year, during the Renewable Energy India (REI) exhibition 2024, Solex introduced India's first solar module powered by rectangular cells, setting a precedent for technological leadership in the country. This year, we are once again making history by bringing one of the most advanced solar technologies to India and sustaining its legacy. Our commitment remains customer-first, ensuring we deliver the best-in-class solutions that empower communities, industries, and the nation.”

He further added, "Our focus is not just on scaling capacity but on delivering unmatched value through efficiency, reliability, and performance. As we expand our global presence across India, Europe, and the US, we aim to build a future where clean and affordable energy empowers every home, business, and community. Together with ISC Konstanz, we are turning that vision into reality."

Solex also unveiled a concept launch of India's first Rear Contact Solar Module, TAPI Rear Contact, representing a major leap forward in design and efficiency. TAPI is a registered name and logo under Solex Energy. Powered by advanced N-Type Rear Contact technology, the new module delivers up to 24.60 percent efficiency and 665W power output, with zero front shading and exceptional temperature performance. The commercial production of TAPI Rear Contact is scheduled to commence by FY27, marking Solex's entry into the next era of premium solar technology.

On the MoU signing ceremony, Dr Kopeček, Radovan, Head of Department Strategy and Education, ISC Konstanz said, "At ISC Konstanz, we have been steadily increasing photovoltaic efficiency while reducing costs since 2005. Our mission is to achieve research outcomes that benefit both industry and society. We set global standards, share expertise with partners and young talent worldwide, and remain driven by one ultimate goal, making clean solar energy accessible and affordable for all. Our partnership with Solex Energy brings us closer to realising that vision and advancing a successful global energy transition."
