SolarSquare Surpasses 250 MW Milestone in Rooftop Solar Installations

Rooftop solar EPC company SolarSquare has surpassed 250 MW of installed capacity, including 100 MW from residential projects and 150 MW from commercial and industrial projects. The company aims to expand its reach from 20 cities now to 50 cities across India by 2030.

SolarSquare, a rooftop solar EPC company, has announced that it has crossed 250 MW of installed capacity.

Of the 250 MW milestone, 100 MW comes from residential projects – installing rooftop solar on over 25,000 homes and on 240 housing societies. The other 150 MW has been driven by commercial and industrial projects, where the company has solarised factories and warehouses of leading brands, such as Swiggy, D’Decor, Force Motors, to name a few, said the company in a statement.

Founded in 2015, SolarSquare operates in 20 cities across India and plans to expand to 50 by 2030, entering new emerging markets in the near future. The company operates on a full-stack model, from design and installation to government permits, financing, and long-term maintenance.

Shreya Mishra, CEO and Co-founder of SolarSquare, said, “It's been 10 years of building SolarSquare. But we are just getting started – while 20 lakh homes in India have adopted solar so far, there are crores of homes still waiting to join the solar revolution of India. And that’s why we are the first company in India to offer rooftop solar with a promise of guaranteed savings, taking responsibility for not just the installation but also 100 percent responsibility for the performance of solar thereafter.”

SolarSquare’s growth comes at a time when India is pushing to accelerate rooftop solar adoption. While the government set a 40 GW rooftop solar target by 2026, only 11 GW has been achieved so far. The company is helping bridge this gap, particularly with the rollout of the INR 75,000 crore PM-Surya Ghar scheme, which aims to solarise one crore households.
