The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by adding 20,745 MW of solar module capacity in List-I in May 2026. With this, the cumulative module manufacturing capacity, enlisted in ALMM, reaches 193,889 MW.
Sudarshan Saur Shakti (360 MW), Nav-Yug Solar (146 MW) and Silver Consumer Electricals (Silver Pumps and Motors) (774 MW) are the new entrants.
Among the existing players, Waaree Energies has added 9,234 MW via its subsidiary Sangam Solar One. Reliance Industries has added 3,485 MW of HJT solar module capacity to reach 5,201 MW.
Novasys Greenergy has added 865 MW from a new facility in Nagpur. Rayzon Solar has increased its capacity by 2,254 MW, and LUMINOUS Power Technologies has added 1,095 MW.
PIXON Green Energy has added 1,646 MW of TOPCon capacity. It has 745 MW of Mono PERC capacity listed already. With this the company’s total enlisted capacity increases to 2,391 MW.
Other existing players that have added capacities include Redren Energy (650 MW), Unique Sun Power (223 MW), TP Solar (37 MW) and Mundra Solar PV (Adani Solar) (20 MW).
However, enlisted capacities of Sunify Solar, Orb Energy and Jeem Energy have reduced by 25 MW, 13 MW and 6 MW, respectively.
The list was last updated on March 1, 2026, when MNRE added 11,035 MW of solar module capacity, taking the total capacity listed under ALMM List-I to 173,144 MW.
Introduced in 2021, the ALMM serves as a critical quality control measure, ensuring that only approved solar module manufacturers are eligible for government projects, subsidies, and tenders. The list is regularly updated to reflect the status of compliant manufacturers.
Solar Cells will also come under the ambit of ALMM from June 1, 2026, onwards. On July 31, 2025, MNRE released the first edition of its ALMM List-II for solar PV cells. Subsequently, the list has been revised seven times, with the total enlisted capacity reaching 30,508 MW.
In March 2026, MNRE expanded its ALMM framework to include ingots and wafers under a new List-III, mandating their use from June 1, 2028. The first list will be published when at least three independent wafer manufacturers with a combined 15 GW capacity are enlisted, and the cut-off date will be 7 days post the initial list issuance.
