The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by adding 17,268 MW of solar module capacity in List-I in February 2026. With this, the cumulative module manufacturing capacity reaches 162,109 MW.

Two new manufacturers have entered the ALMM List-I by adding a total capacity of 1,124 MW. While KRG Power Solar (Space Solar) has added 1,094 MW, Sun2Earth Solar has added 30 MW.

Among the existing players, six manufacturers have enlisted capacities from their new plants. RenewSys India has added 2,268 MW from a new plant in Maharashtra, increasing its overall total ALMM-listed capacities to 5,117 MW.

SAEL SOLAR P6 (SAEL Industries) has added 1,535 MW from a plant in Rajasthan. With this, its total enlisted capacity increases to 4,129 MW.

Pahal Solar has added 2,076 MW from a new plant in Surat, Gujarat. Sunbond Energy has added 844 MW from its second unit in Gujarat.

Premier Energies Global Environment (Premier Energies) has added 1,507 MW from a new plant in Telangana, increasing total enlisted capacities to 5,153 MW.

Grew Energy (Grew Solar) has added 3,015 MW from a new plant in Dudu, Rajasthan, increasing its total enlisted capacities to 5,818 MW.

Further, Emmvee Energy (2,079 MW), ReNew Photovoltaics (624 MW), Sunify Solar (1,406 MW), and Surya International Enterprise (320 MW) have also increased capacities. Mundra Solar PV (Adani Solar) has added 244 MW, and Unique Sun Power has increased capacity by 226 MW.

The list was last updated on December 22, 2025, when MNRE added 23,119 MW of solar module capacity, taking the total capacity listed under ALMM List-I to 144,841 MW.

In the December 2025 update, six new manufacturers – Znshine Solarworld (1,552 MW), Inox Solar (1,274 MW), Macwin Solar Energy (405 MW), Eastman Green Technologies (Eastman Auto and Power) (374 MW), Frontier Energy (548 MW) and Green Valley Motors (34 MW) – entered the list.

The existing players have also ramped up capacities by a total of 18,932 MW. Waaree Energies increased the capacity of its Chikhli, Gujarat plant by 6,684 MW, reaching 16,444 MW. Rayzon Solar added 5,659 MW from a new plant in Surat to reach 9,065 MW.

Goldi Sun (Goldi Solar) listed 3,384 MW from a new plant in Gujarat, reaching about 18 GW. Insolation Green Energy (INA Solar) added 1,589 MW from its Dudu plant, increasing the plant’s capacity to 2,791 MW and the company’s total ALMM-listed capacity to 3,602 MW.

Saatvik Solar Industries increased its capacity by 1,181 MW to reach 3,122 MW. Australian Premium Solar (India) added 335 MW to reach 622 MW. MKU Holdings added 64 MW to reach 1,247 MW. SAEL Solar Mfg. added 36 MW from its Punjab facility, increasing the plant’s capacity to 220 MW.

Introduced in 2021, the ALMM serves as a critical quality control measure, ensuring that only approved solar module manufacturers are eligible for government projects, subsidies, and tenders. The list is regularly updated to reflect the status of compliant manufacturers.

Solar Cells will also come under the ambit of ALMM from June 1, 2026, onwards. On July 31, 2025, MNRE released the first edition of its ALMM List-II for solar PV cells, enlisting 13,066 MW of domestic manufacturing capacity across six manufacturers and nine units. Subsequently, the list was revised four times.

Earlier this month, MNRE expanded its ALMM List-II for solar PV cells by 3,058 MW, taking the total enlisted capacity to 26,790 MW.

In September 2025, MNRE issued a draft amendment in the ALMM framework to include solar wafers. As per the draft, ALMM List-III for wafers will come into effect from June 1, 2028, subject to the condition that at least three independent wafer manufacturing units are operational, with a combined annual capacity of 15 GW. Importantly, enlisted wafer manufacturers must also have equivalent ingot manufacturing capacity, ensuring integrated upstream production.
