The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) by adding 529 MW of Mono-PERC solar cell capacity in List-II in October 2026. With this, the cumulative cell manufacturing capacity enlisted in ALMM has reached 37,393 MW.

Premier Energies Photovoltaic, a subsidiary of Premier Energies, has added 529 MW of Mono-PERC solar cell capacity in its plant in Telangana, increasing the listed capacity to 1,280 MW.

Premier Energies has another 1,174 MW of Mono-PERC solar cell capacity listed through Premier Energies International. Premier Energies Photovoltaic also has 1,358 MW of G12R N-Type TOPCon solar cell capacity listed in ALMM-II.

With this latest increase, the company’s total Mono-PERC capacity has increased to 2,454 MW and total enlisted capacity has increased to 3,812 MW.

This is the 11th revision of the list since being first published on July 31, 2025.

The list was last updated on September 28, 2026, when two existing manufacturers increased their enlisted capacities. Jupiter Solartech enlisted 1,297 MW of Bifacial N-Type TOPCon solar cell capacity from its new Unit IV in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, taking Jupiter International’s total enlisted cell capacity to 3,067 MW. Renewsys India added 100 MW of Bifacial N-Type TOPCon solar cell capacity from its plant in Telangana, taking the total enlisted capacity to 552 MW.

The cut-off date for the implementation of ALMM List-II for utility-scale projects tendered by state and central utilities and REIAs where ALMM-II applicability is decided based on the date of bid submission, was August 31, 2025.

MNRE, however, has extended the exemption from ALMM II requirements of using domestically manufactured solar cells for net metering and open access solar projects till December 31, 2026.

In March 2026, MNRE expanded its ALMM framework to include ingots and wafers under a new List-III, mandating their use from June 1, 2028. The first list will be published when at least three independent wafer manufacturers with a combined 15 GW capacity are enlisted, and the cut-off date will be 7 days post the initial list issuance.
