Organic Recycling Systems Ltd. (ORSL) has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Solapur Bioenergy Systems, has secured an operations and maintenance (O&M) contract from Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL). The contract pertains to IOCL’s 200 tonnes per day (TPD) paddy straw-based compressed biogas (CBG) plant located in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The Gorakhpur CBG plant is a key node in IOCL’s green energy blueprint and aligns with the Government of India’s Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) initiative. Designed to process 200 TPD of agro-residues, including paddy straw, press mud, and cattle dung, the plant will produce significant quantities of clean CBG fuel and nutrient-rich organic manure.

ORSL will be responsible for end-to-end O&M services — including plant uptime, safety protocols, daily operations, preventive maintenance, and manpower management. This project is expected to support regional economies, reduce stubble burning, and contribute to India’s GHG emissions reduction targets.

Speaking on the development, Sarang Bhand, Promoter and MD, stated, “Being selected by IOCL for this project reinforces our belief in purpose-driven growth. It showcases our readiness to deliver industrial-scale projects that are technically complex, socially meaningful, and environmentally necessary. We remain committed to operational excellence and building India’s bioeconomy brick by brick.”
