Bengaluru-based Smartgrid Analytics (SGA) has surpassed 107 GW in renewable energy assets commissioned globally, as the Indian deep-tech company expands its focus from plant automation to software-driven decision-making for renewable and storage projects.

SGA said that its technology now supports more than 500 projects across solar, wind, battery storage, hybrid and green hydrogen systems.

The company commissioned or delivered about 12.4 GW of new capacity in the financial year 2025-26, while battery storage and hybrid projects accounted for nearly half of its revenue, compared with almost none a year earlier.

The shift comes as renewable energy developers increasingly combine generation with battery storage and hybrid systems to provide more predictable and flexible power.

“Crossing 107 GW reflects the trust global clean energy leaders place in our technology. What is equally significant is how quickly the nature of our business has changed. Two years ago, our storage-focused solutions were at the patent and product development stage. Today, storage and hybrid account for nearly half our business. A grid is no longer simply somewhere you inject power. Increasingly, you have to decide what to do next. That decision is what we build,” said Kumar M, Founder and CEO, Smartgrid Analytics.

SGA's recent Indian projects include two grid-scale battery projects of 300 MW/1,400 MWh and 300 MW/600 MWh, as well as five distributed storage projects. These include a 22 MW/44 MWh system for a metropolitan distribution utility.

The company has also worked on hybrid and renewable projects including a 405 MW plant with 135 MW of co-located storage, a 435 MW project in Andhra Pradesh, a 600 MW master power plant controller in Madhya Pradesh and a 250 MW utility-scale project.

Outside India, SGA delivered 1,254 MW of projects in the Middle East for a global engineering, procurement and construction contractor. Its international portfolio includes projects in Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Oman and Algeria.

The company also completed an 80 MW project in South Africa and a 20 MW project in Uganda.

In the United States, SGA supplied a 75 MW battery project in California, providing grid-code compliance logic for the California Independent System Operator and Southern California Edison. The project was commissioned in July 2025 and is supported by the company's Bengaluru operations.

Exports accounted for 24.5 percent of SGA's revenue, while projects without hardware contributed 20.6 percent, reflecting its growing focus on software-led solutions.

SGA's Solvyn platform provides automated control and market participation across more than 21 grid codes and 9 GWh of battery storage, the company said.

The firm is also expanding into demand-side management for data centres in India and the United States, where rising electricity demand is putting pressure on power infrastructure.

Earlier this year, SGA raised USD 3.3 million from strategic investors and clean energy veterans and filed 21 patents, including two in the United States, covering digital twin modelling, energy management system dispatch logic and its AURA intelligence framework.
