Škoda Auto has unveiled an electric-powered motorcycle, the Slavia B, designed in-house by exterior stylist Romain Bucaille. The electric vehicle (EV) concept celebrates Škoda’s 130-year design legacy while embracing sustainability and digitalisation.
Though not intended for production, the Slavia B underscores Škoda’s commitment to honouring its past while shaping a bold future. Škoda’s 130-year design reinterprets the brand’s historic 1899 Laurin & Klement (L&K) motorcycle through its Modern Solid design philosophy. It marks the first in a series of reimagined Škoda classics.
The Slavia B concept reflects Škoda’s origins in two-wheeled vehicles, as the company started with bicycles and motorcycles in 1895. Now, the Skoda Slavia B has got an electric avatar, designed by Romain Bucaille.
The design retains the iconic frame of the original Slavia B but adapts it for the electric era, with a vertical line dividing the front and rear for a sculptural balance. It has a sleek minimalist café racer look with crisp edges, a floating seat, and an integrated leather tool bag. The bike, which had a top speed of 40 kmph, did not have a gearbox and had a flat belt attached to power the rear wheels. L&K produced only 540 units of the motorcycles between 1899-1904.
Skoda Slavia B concept offers some interesting designs like USD front forks, larger alloy wheels with rectangular-shaped spokes, and a low-set handlebar complements its cafe-racer design. The EV is equipped with a leather seat and tool bag fitted just behind the empty frame.
While the Slavia B won’t hit the roads, it serves as a bold statement of Škoda’s design direction, blending its rich heritage with a vision for sustainable, innovative mobility. More reimagined classics are expected, promising further glimpses into Škoda’s creative future.
