Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) felicitated top companies across various sectors for their contribution to the Indian economy. As part of D&B's constant efforts towards delivering added value to its customers, the country's top ranking companies based on 'India's Top 500 Companies 2014' across various categories of business excellence were honoured. The award ceremony was attended by captains of industry and opinion leaders from the Government of India.

"This award is a great recognition for sustained efforts put in by us in the journey of excellence. Winning it for 8th consecutive year puts additional responsibility on us to continually raise the bar higher.SKF is committed to deliver innovative value added solutions leveraging our engineering knowledge, to help our customers create sustainable advantage in the market", said Shishir Joshipura, Managing Director, SKF India. "I thank all our stakeholders for their continued support in our endeavor", he added.

The awards methodology was applied to this list of top 500 companies, duly classified in their respective sectors. D&B India developed a proprietary financial model for identifying the top companies in each sector. The model is based on the premise of recognising the twin virtues of size and growth of the companies while awarding them. The analyst team identified pertinent financial parameters to fulfill this premise and assigned weights to them. Winners were chosen on the basis of a composite score of these weighted parameters. The parameters considered for ranking the companies include - total income, net profit, net worth, net profit margin, return on net worth, average market capitalisation for FY13, growth in total income and growth in net profit.
