SJVN Invites Bids for 5.14 MW Solar PV Projects Without Battery Storage in Southern India

SJVN has invited bids to develop 5,140 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar PV projects without battery storage across union government buildings in Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, through a RESCO/PPA model and tariff-based competitive bidding. Bid submission ends on June 27, 2025.

SJVN has floated a tender for the selection of solar rooftop power developers for the setting up of a cumulative capacity of 5,140 kW grid-connected rooftop solar PV power projects without battery storage on union government buildings in Southern India.

The projects will be located in Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. The projects will be set up under RESCO/PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) mode through a tariff-based competitive bidding under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli yojana.

The approximate value of the tender is INR 25.70 crore. The projects must be completed within 6 months.

Bidders need to pay INR 5,900 as a tender document fee. Further, they need to furnish INR 1,000/kW of the quoted capacity as an earnest money deposit (EMD).

The last date for submission of bids is June 27, 2025 till 1:00 PM. The techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 3:00 PM.

The bidder must have experience in design, supply, installation and commissioning of grid-connected rooftop/ground-mounted/floating solar photovoltaic (SPV) power plants in India of a cumulative installed capacity of 500 kWp or higher in the last seven years.

Out of the above-stated cumulative installed capacity, at least one grid-connected rooftop/ground-mounted/floating solar photovoltaic (SPV) power plant must have been of 100 kWp or higher capacity. These reference plants must have been in successful operation for at least six months.

SJVN empanelled vendors need to only fulfil the financial eligibility criteria.  

To be financially eligible, the bidder must demonstrate a Minimum Average Annual Turnover of INR 15,000/kW of the total quoted capacity during the three immediately preceding financial years.
