SJVN Green, SAEL, Coal India Secure Wins in GUVNL's 600 MW Solar Auction
The competitive bidding process kicked off with the opening of the L1 tariff, establishing a competitive benchmark at INR 2.65 per kWh.

SJVN Green Energy, SAEL Industries, and Coal India emerged victorious in the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam's (GUVNL) auction. The auction, aimed at procuring power from 600 MW of grid-connected solar power projects (Phase XXI), is slated to be established at the Gujarat Industries Power Company's (GIPCL) solar park in Khavda, Gujarat, with an additional greenshoe option of 600 MW.
The competitive bidding process kicked off with the opening of the L1 tariff, establishing a competitive benchmark at INR 2.65 per kWh. The results unveiled a notable win for SJVN Green Energy Limited, securing the top spot by clinching 100 MW with a final tariff of INR 2.54 per kWh. SAEL Industries Limited closely followed, securing 200 MW at a final tariff of INR 2.55 per kWh. Meanwhile, Coal India Limited, with a bid capacity of 600 MW, secured 300 MW at the same tariff of INR 2.55 per kWh.
The participation of major players such as SJVN Green Energy Limited, SAEL Industries Limited, and Coal India Limited underscored the robust interest in the auction. Solairedirect Energy India Pvt. Ltd., although participating with a bid capacity of 300 MW, did not secure any capacity.
The successful outcome of the reverse auction not only signifies the growing momentum of solar power adoption in Gujarat but also reflects a positive trend in the broader renewable energy sector.
