SJVN Bags 200 MW Project in Khavda Solar Park of Gujarat

The company obtained the project worth INR 1,200 crore through an e-Reverse auction conducted by GUVNL.

Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN Ltd.) has won a 200 MW grid-connected solar power project in Khavda Solar Park worth INR 1,200 crore from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL). The company obtained the project through an e-Reverse auction conducted by GUVNL.
 
The hydroelectric power generation company has bagged the project at a tariff of INR 2.88 per unit. With a tentative cost of INR 1,200 crore, the project will be set on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis.
 
The solar power project in Gujarat would produce 505 million units in the first year of commissioning. Over a period of 25 years, the cumulative energy generation is expected to be around 11,756 million units.
 
Talking about the Gujarat project, "Commissioning of the project is expected to reduce 5,76,067 tonnes of carbon emission. With the allotment of this project, our solar & wind portfolio stands at 17,620 MW out of which 179.5 MW is under operation and the rest is under various stages of implementation," Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), SJVN Ltd.
