Siemens Wins 126 MW Order for Maharashtra Wind Farm

Siemens Gamesa will supply the infrastructure to install and operate the facility, including supply, erection and commissioning of 63 units of SG 2.0-114 wind turbines in the state of Maharashtra

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has announced that it has bagged an order for 126 MW wind farm in Osmanabad district of Maharashtra, a company statement said.

The company declaration further added that as part of the turnkey contract, Siemens Gamesa will supply the infrastructure to install and operate the facility, including supply, erection and commissioning of 63 units of SG 2.0-114 wind turbines in the state of Maharashtra. The order was signed by the companies on September 2018.

Ramesh Kymal, chief executive officer, Siemens Gamesa India, “We are happy to announce this new order. Orders from major utilities stand as a reaffirmation of our product and project management capabilities in the wind space. With a turbine made for India, we expect to deliver better generation for our clients and contribute positively to India’s renewable energy capacity addition targets,” said.

Siemens Gamesa lately topped the 5.5-GW mark in the accumulated base with two blade factories in Nellore (Andra Pradesh) and Halol (Gujarat) and is present in India since 2009. The company also has an operations and maintenance centre in Red Hills (Chennai, Tamil Nadu).

Lately, Siemens Gamesa had commissioned a 3.375 MW wind-solar hybrid power project for the state-run National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
