Siemens Ltd. reaffirms commitment to enhance industrial productivity

The Industry Automation division of Siemens Ltd., has launched the new version of SIMATIC Process Control System PCS 7 - V 8.0 at the Siemens Process Automation Conference (SPACe), 2012, Hyderabad.

The latest version of SIMATIC PCS 7 V 8.0 has a host of advantages such as improved data exchange, simplified engineering workflow, scalable long term archiving system, ease in creating and modifying reports, redundancy-related and fault-tolerant functions to new controllers and extended functionalities for the software tools.

Speaking on the launch Dr. Heiner Roehrl, CEO, Industry Sector, Siemens Ltd., said “To capture the manufacturing opportunity available today - locally and globally, Indian manufacturers will have to improve their productivity dramatically. The advantage here is that our customers need not go through all the steps from ground zero. It is possible to enter at a high level of automation thanks to the automation products like SIMATIC PCS 7 which is available today concurrent with world standards. We are the only supplier able to cut our customers time-to-market for certain products in half by using software and automation technology, while significantly reducing the costs associated with energy or waste water for a manufacturing company.”

New features such as extended plant documentation, integrated statistics, simpler operation and more convenient replacement of devices by functionalities such as export/ import functions in SIMATIC PDM (Process Device Manager) would benefit users. Further, users can easily archive process data and reports and can utilize them to optimize production.

Mr. Axel Lorenz, Vice President for Process Automation, Industrial Automation Systems, Siemens AG, lauded the Indian process industry for reaching out for state-of-the-art automation products and added, “The unveiling of SIMATIC PCS 7 V 8.0 at SPACe symbolizes the high level technological advancements in the Process Automation Industry in India. SPACe (Siemens Process Automation Conference) 2012 is an end customer summit organized by Siemens that brings together eminent automation experts, users and industry leaders on a common platform from diverse manufacturing companies to discuss the trends, concerns, expectations of the India industry automation. Back by popular demand for the 2nd year, the event was held in Hyderabad on the 11th to 13th of April 2012. <br />
