Siemens Energy India Ltd. (SEIL), the energy arm of Siemens in India, has been listed in the BSE and NSE. The company’s share was listed at INR 2,850 on the BSE and INR 2,840 on the NSE.
The successful demerger and listing of Siemens Energy India creates two strong, independent companies – Siemens Ltd., India and Siemens Energy India Ltd. – each focused on its core business, strategy, and capital allocation.
The development follows the agreement from November 2023 between Siemens AG and Siemens Energy AG to accelerate the unbundling of the business activities of the Indian subsidiary of Siemens. Siemens Energy AG is to ultimately acquire a controlling stake in Siemens Energy India, subject to applicable regulatory approvals.
Commenting on the development, Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG said, “The listing of Siemens Energy India Limited simplifies and strengthens our corporate structure in India. This move demonstrates our long-term commitment to this fast-growing and strategically important market and reflects our strategic focus on empowering each business to succeed independently. Ultimately, it will unlock value for all shareholders and enable both Siemens and Siemens Energy to grow faster.”
Siemens AG holds 69 percent of Siemens Energy India, and Siemens Energy AG holds 6 percent, with the remainder in free float – mirroring the existing ownership structure of Siemens India.
This strategic step enables both entities to better serve their markets with tailored go-to-market approaches and unlocks greater value for shareholders. Siemens India will continue as a technology company in Industry, Infrastructure, and Mobility, driving innovation by combining the real and digital worlds. Siemens Energy India will focus on becoming the most valued energy technology company, supporting customers in their transition to a more sustainable future.
