Noida-based Sharika Enterprises has secured a new contract from JSW Renew Energy Three, a wholly-owned step-down subsidiary of JSW Energy, worth about INR 58.16 lakh for the supply of state-of-the-art smart switchgear for their Wind Farm Project.

The order comprises 33KV Outdoor Smart SF6 Load Break Switches (LBS) specifically designed for underground renewable power distribution systems. The switchgear units provide significant advantages in performance, safety, and operational flexibility, making them ideal for today’s solar and wind plants, the company said in a statement.

This project is a continuation of Sharika Enterprises' earlier participation for the supply of underground cables to JSW's wind farm operations. The alliance also signifies the closer bonding of the two companies. JSW and Sharika Enterprises are moving hand in hand to achieve the common vision of building a strong and forward-looking power grid fuelling India's green energy ambitions, the company said.

Somdutt Sharma, General Manager, Sharika Enterprises, stated, “We are proud to extend our association with JSW and add meaningfully to their plans for renewable energy. The transition to underground cabling and smart switchgear is a welcome step for the industry. It's a step that enhances safety, minimises outages and prepares the grid to meet the future.”

Among the major highlights of this project are creating a stronger and more stable grid for renewable farms. Underground cabling replaces the traditional overland cabling, and the shift has enhanced renewable generation availability. In addition, the topology of the grid is designed to provide ring operation as well as self-healing capabilities. It has opened up the possibilities for smarter and more responsive power systems.

The other salient feature is SF6 gas-insulated Load Break Switches, which are a cost-efficient substitute for traditional Ring Main Units (RMUs). Their design enables customers to enjoy advanced functionality at a high level, while saving considerable costs, thus making the solution technically superior as well as commercially effective.

The solution is designed and manufactured by Contronics Switchgear. “With its diverse, in-depth, and hands-on expertise in the electrical power segment, Contronics perfectly complements Sharika's capabilities in transmission, distribution, and renewable energy,” said the company.

It further added, “This collaboration ensures long-term synergy and a sustainable business model, aligning Sharika's execution strength with Contronics' manufacturing excellence. Together, both companies are delivering smart, future-ready power solutions that will continue to support India's energy transition.”
