Shakti Pumps has announced that the company has received a Letter of Empanelment (LoE) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) for the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of 15,000 off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) across Maharashtra under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana.

The empanelment covers 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP solar pumps, with the total order valued at approximately INR 353.89 crore (inclusive of GST). The project is scheduled to be executed within 60 days from the issuance of the work order or Notice to Proceed (NTP), the company stated in a regulatory filing.

In a separate development, GK Energy has also received a Letter of Empanelment from MSEDCL for the supply and installation of 10,000 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems under the same scheme.

The GK Energy project includes 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP solar pumps and is valued at INR 235.92 crore (inclusive of GST). The company will execute the project within 60 days from the issuance of the work order or NTP, it said in a regulatory filing. With this project, the company has secured orders worth INR 637.83 crore (inclusive of GST) from the utility.

Commenting on the development, Gopal Kabra, Chairman and Managing Director, GK Energy, said, "Over the years, we have built GK Energy as an execution-focused renewable energy infrastructure company with a technology-defined, asset-light operating model. Our strength lies in combining deep rural market understanding with robust execution capabilities, enabling us to deliver decentralised renewable energy projects efficiently and at scale. This approach has allowed us to support large public programmes while maintaining quality, speed and operational discipline."

The empanelments are part of Maharashtra's Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, which aims to expand the deployment of off-grid solar-powered irrigation pumps, enabling reliable daytime irrigation for farmers while reducing dependence on grid electricity and diesel-powered pumping systems.
