Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd. has announced that the second tranche of 12,451 off-grid solar pumps from the company that were made available from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) portal to farmers across Maharashtra have been fully booked. The total value of this tranche is approximately INR 347.41 crore.

The company received a Letter of Empanelment from MSEDCL last month for the supply and installation of 34,720 off-grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana and the Component B of PM-KUSUM Yojana.

Last month, MSEDCL opened its portal for the first tranche of 10,000 SPWPS, which were fully booked by farmers within just 1.5 hours. The total value of this tranche was approximately INR 268.88 crore.

Commenting on the development, Dinesh Patidar, Chairman of Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd., shared, “Our deep-rooted presence in Maharashtra, coupled with our proven execution capabilities, positions us strongly to deliver on this order within the stipulated timeline. We remain committed to empowering farmers with sustainable and energy-efficient water solutions that enhance agricultural productivity.”

He further added that with 22,451 SPWPS already booked across two tranches, valuing the total order to INR 616.30 crore, Shakti Pumps is well on its way to fulfilling the empanelled commitment of 34,720 SPWPS under the scheme.

Shakti Pumps has reported an 83.6 percent jump in FY25 revenue to INR 25,162 million, driven by strong domestic and export performance and improved margins. The company’s Profit after Tax (PAT) increased to INR 4,084 Mn in FY25 from INR 1,417 million in FY24.
