Servotech Power Systems Ltd., an EV charger manufacturer, has clinched a major deal with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). The contract, valued at 120 Crores, entails the manufacturing, supplying, and installation of 1800 DC Fast EV Chargers, marking a crucial step in advancing the nation's electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem.
The BPCL E-drive Project, a nationwide initiative, will see Servotech strategically deploy these chargers at BPCL petrol pumps in major cities, fostering a widespread and accessible EV charging network. The project comprises two charger variants, 60 kW and 120 kW, with Servotech aiming to complete the ambitious undertaking by the end of 2024.
Sarika Bhatia, Director of Servotech Power Systems Ltd., expressed pride in accelerating India's E-Mobility revolution in collaboration with BPCL. "Our partnership focuses on establishing a dynamic EV charging network that makes EV charging accessible for EV owners nationwide. Through cutting-edge DC Fast EV Chargers, Servotech Power Systems aims to play a pivotal role in realizing India's ambitious goals in the E-Mobility sector, bringing the nation closer to becoming an EV-powered nation," she said.
As India embraces electric mobility, Servotech stands at the forefront, having already successfully supplied 4000 EV chargers across the nation as of January 2024. The company's proactive support contributes to the country's smooth transition toward a cleaner and more sustainable transportation ecosystem. Bhatia highlighted that this initiative not only signifies a significant milestone but also lays the foundation for a robust and expansive charging network, crucial for the future of high-capacity and rapid EV charging.
This collaboration builds on the successful partnership between Servotech Power Systems and BPCL, which previously worked together on transforming the E-Mobility landscape. The company had secured an order to supply and install 2649 AC EV chargers at various locations across the country for BPCL's E-drive project. As of now, Servotech has completed 36 percent of the supply and installation, with the entire project expected to conclude by March 2024.
