Serentica Renewables has invited expressions of interest (EOI) to set up inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to supply 800 MWh of battery capacity to Serentica’s round-the-clock green energy projects.

In order to provide innovative BESS that can provide dependable energy storage, Serentica is looking for technical partners throughout the world. The projects, which call for at least 51 percent ownership by the BESS provider, will consist of 200 MW/400 MWh of 2-hour storage and 100 MW/400 MWh of 4-hour storage.

Beginning in June 2026, Serentica will sign a 12-year service agreement with BESS Projects to procure the BESS capacity on an annual basis under a 12-year service agreement, starting June 2026 onwards. The last day to submit the bids is July 30, 2024.

Serentica is currently executing 4 GW of projects and will deliver 2 GW per year of round-the-clock green energy to large industrial customers in India.

The portfolio will supply more than 9 BUs of clean energy annually, offsetting 8.5 million tonnes of CO2. Serentica’s vision is to provide over 50 billion units of clean energy annually in the medium term and displace 47 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.
