Senvion India has announced that the company has secured a new 83.7 MW wind project order from Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) in Tamil Nadu.
The project will deploy 31 of Senvion’s 2.7M130 wind turbine generators at a 130-metre hub height. The 2.7M130 combines a large rotor and intelligent controls, making it a natural fit for IPPs looking for dependable performance over the long term, stated the company.
It further added that, along with supplying and installing the turbines, Senvion will also manage long-term operations and maintenance for up to 25 years.
The project will be executed at a Senvion Certified Site, a pre-evaluated location where Senvion has already completed wind assessments, layout optimisation, logistics route studies, land feasibility checks, and grid-readiness reviews. This approach reduces early-stage development risks and enables customers like Tata Power Renewables to accelerate decision-making with greater confidence, asserted Senvion.
Once commissioned, the project will be monitored through Senvion’s indigenous platform, FleetProTM, which enables remote diagnostics, performance insights, and planned interventions aimed at maximising turbine availability over the project’s lifespan, it said.
Amit Kansal, CEO and MD, Senvion India, stated, “We’re delighted to continue our partnership with TPREL. The Certified Sites approach has allowed both teams to start from a position of confidence, with feasibility checks, wind assessments, and site readiness already in place. With the 2.7M130 platform and long-term O&M commitment, our focus is simple: reliable delivery from day one and consistent performance throughout the life of the project.”
Senvion India has been present in India since 2016 and has manufacturing capabilities of 2 GW and an operational wind portfolio of over 1.5 GW across India.
