Senvion India has successfully installed its prototype 3.1M130 turbine, an upgraded variant from the 2XM series and is now on track to be ready for commercial installation in India by the first quarter of 2025..
As per the firm's note, the product is included in the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM), representing a crucial step in Senvion’s mission to deliver cutting-edge wind energy solutions while reducing the levelised cost of energy (LCOE).
Amit Kansal, CEO and Managing Director of Senvion India, expressed his pride in the successful commissioning of the new turbine. "The successful installation of the 3.1M130 turbine underscore our commitment to innovation and excellence. The turbine is designed for Indian environment and grid conditions to ensure grid stability. According to Juergen Birnbaum, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Senvion India, the 3.1M130 turbine is built to withstand the demanding conditions of the Indian market.

It boasts a longer lifespan with enhanced reliability, designed to withstand the unique challenges of the Indian landscape. It has a robustly designed nacelle equipped with a sophisticated control system to assure high performance even at low wind speeds. This model is based on the well-proven technology and is an enhancement of our high-selling and robust 2.7M130 turbine,” Birnbaum explained.
