EnerPlus Solutions India, a new startup based out of Bangalore, India announced a new partnership with Solar Energy International (SEI) based in the United States to expand solar training program for renewable energy professionals in India.
Solar Energy International (SEI) is one of the oldest and largest renewable energy training organizations in the US. Founded in 1991, as a non-profit educational organization focused solely on renewable energy, SEI’s mission is to provide quality training to advance the renewable energy industry. SEI’s PV curriculum was one of the first curriculums in the United States to be certified by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC), which is the premier resource for credentialing and best practices regarding renewable energy and SEI’s instruction manual is used in hundreds of colleges and training programs around the world.
SEI and EnerPlus will launch joint training sessions in India in June 2013, focusing on technical design considerations of PV systems. In order to ensure that these systems are designed for maximum performance, this in-depth training will focus on system design, equipment choices and installation methods for optimal long-term performance, quality and cost considerations. Topics will include: pre-project planning, system design and optimization, inverter and transformer selection and interconnection at medium voltage as well as racking choices.
“PV in India was mostly an off-grid market from 1980s. However with the recent commissioning of major MW on grid installations, the growth has really picked up. With a large growth in installations fuelled by energy shortage in major Indian cities, PV continues to gain interest from various stakeholders both in off-grid and in on-grid applications. We are proud to partner with EnerPlus on expanding solar training activities in India”, said Kathy Schwartz, Kathryn Swartz, Executive Director, Solar Energy International.
Launched in January 2013, EnerPlus provides complete energy solutions for residential and commercial customers in India. EnerPlus has a unique process to design and deliver kits to the end-customer from their own distribution center in Bangalore, that are installed by EnerPlus certified professionals. EnerPlus’s unique “Expert Club” training offers the “gold standard” for solar PV installation certification, targeting renewable energy professionals in India and neighboring international markets who are seeking exposure to an international offering of products, and eager to adopt international standards of installation expertise and leverage such expertise to offer premium service to their local customers. EnerPlus has already completed successful training events in with installers from Southern India, and this program is receiving strong interest from all sections of the renewable energy community. The next “Expert Club” session is being held on April 27 and 28t in Chennai, India with subsequent 2013 events planned in Coimbatore, Cochin and Pune.
